NIC problem was created by aminos
Hi
I have a weird nic problem : when my pc boots up it tells me that network cable is disconnected and when i unplug it and plug it again the nic works fine and when i do a reboot it becames disconnected.
how to activate it at boot time ?
or should I replace the NIC card, actually i just bought it
I use win2k pro os

Something to check. Does the NIC have LED status lights and are these on when it says the network is disconnected? Since it's a new NIC I wonder if it's a physical connection issue. Just a thought.

Well actually i have two green leds and they are always on even if it said the network is disconnected

Very strange issue
Did you check for latest drivers / windows updates?
Also, your cable is not too long, is it? Check with an other cable anyway in case it is related.

Really strange.... A couple more questions after trying out nske's suggestions:
1. Is is a fresh install?
2. Have you got any proxy-type software or firewalls running?
