Hi,

Thanks Nevin for your Colorful reply, Well considering above scenario following need to be clarified, Movie is still remaining :)

Coming to the point.

1) It is highly impossible that we use the unique IP Addresses in INDIA assigned by the U.S ISP even if it is two IP with the same subnet.

2) Do we have to ask both U.S & India ISP's to provide and assign the same subnet IP Addresses

2) Assume we have to create a STATIC POINT TO POINT between U.S Head Office & INDIA Branch office.

3) we need only to create the static POINT TO POINT.

4) we would like to use only the leased line and Not the FRAME RELAY

Thanks in advance,

Rizin

The easiest and probably the only viable way of doing some thing close to what you want is a Site to Site VPN.

You create a VPN tunnel between the two locations, and configure the routers to act as VPN end points. This will allow both locations internal networks to access the other as if they where part of the same network, sharing the same internal IP address ranges. The VPN tunel is encrypted over the Internet. However, this is not a point-to-point connection. The edge routers will have different network addresses.

May be some one else has a better idea.

2) Assume we have to create a STATIC POINT TO POINT between U.S Head Office & INDIA Branch office.

If STATIC Point to Point is a requirement given the distance your only option is to launch your own statallite short of making a really big ass trans-oceanic optical fiber cable with lots of optical repeaters. Keep in mind that when yout talking about a Point to Point link your working on a single subnet meaning there will be no routing done.

Hi,

Thanks to Ammar and Big thanks to nevin to drag my mind into earth and satelite simulation :D

1) As per the discussions that STATIC POINT TO POINT never happens between country to country.

2) To be honest just after this discussion right now i read some articles from website regarding International private leased circuits (IPLC)

An IPLC (international private leased circuit) is a point-to-point private line used by an organization to communicate between offices that are geographically dispersed throughout the world. An IPLC can be used for Internet access, business data exchange, video conferencing, and any other form of telecommunication.

To simplify IPLC ordering and billing, a concept called One Stop Shopping (OSS) was developed. OSS allows an organization to place a single order with a single carrier for two private leased circuits for two offices in two different countries. In the past, an organization had to contact each carrier in each country to order the two circuits, which included two separate invoices. OSS consolidates the billing for both circuits into a single invoice, handles all currency issues, and allows the organization to report all problems from either circuit to one carrier.

And also there is something called IEPL(international ethernet private line)

Here the link is:

However my primary concern here about as i stated above about Different subnet IP. I'm going to read more about IPLC & IEPL, we will further continue regarding this topic.

Thanks in advance,
