I would have endorsed Nevin's way until I realised that it was an ebay item with minimum bid sat at $ 0.99 with 6 days to go.

I would stick to the PKZIP option, because, it's free, very small to transfer on a floppy disk.

If you are looking for more free options, here's another one

Thanks for all the suggestions! 10 years 9 months ago #36340

I was able to find a version of WinZip on the internet for Windows98. Not as easy as I thought it would be!! But I did find it and I know have all the files I need from this old beast. Hard to believe but the computer is still going strong, if we didn't have to upgrade their database, which has to run on a newer OS, they would probably keep this PC until it died.

Thanks for all the help!

This one has the buy it now option. $7 (shipping included) is still pretty cheap for such a useful tool. It's one of my "goto" tools. Particularly for hard drive data recovery.

I might have a piece of that bad boy equipment myself, just incase I need it in the future. Quite a lot of our NMS computers run 98 for some obscure reason.

I won't be surprise if I find a pc running even 95 or 3.1!!!
