Installing windows 7 from the network

I have a mini laptop without a CD drive, a desktop with a CD drive, a crossover cable, and a windows 7 installation CD. Please how do I configure this setup to make a network window installation on my laptop mini. Thanks

Hi Sose,

Here's part of a solution. I know Windows Deployment Service does that job for you i.e. install an OS over a network. By the looks of it, you seem to have most of the stuff needed to do this. All you need is the tool from Microsoft and a step by step guide to do it.

Arani I am trying another method a colleague told me, that is copying the window 7 files on the the net book, then running the setup to install win 7. And your old files will be in Windows.old . this method is working

That's ok. I presumed you had no means of transferring installation files over to your notebook, apart from the network, and the the notebook did not have anything on it to start with.
