winmgmt.exe error

Hi,I've been getting this error "Winmgmt.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. Need to restart ".haven't got any solution.Please Help. :shock:

Do you use Serv-U FTP server ? If you do then it looks like you may have been hacked. I just did a quick google for your error message and came to some forums that said something along those lines.

Though some people say that if you disable the windows management instrumentation service it will be fine. Try clicking start >> run and type 'services.msc' and when it loads find the service Windows Management Instrumentation and stop it, turn its startup type to disabled or manual. Reboot and see if that helps you out.

Thanks very much,the second option seemed to have worked.I don't use any ftp software.and so i don't think i was hacked. Thanxs again.
