smitherton,

What does Exchange Server provide that Windows Server 2003's built in POP3 and SMTP server don't? In other words, what's so great about Exchange?

"Easy" active directory integration. Calibration i.e. calender shares, folder shares, a slick web interface.

Are you looking at a mail server for production or experimentation?
