Messenger Service CSRSS.exe? What causes POPUPS?

The problem is that some people want these and other services on by default. It is hard to know what should be the default. If you shut everything off by default for the ordinary user who doesn't know how to turn services on and off - they wouldn't get the services they might want.

I have always had this disagreement with friends on the strengths of the MAC vs MS. One of the strengths of the MAC is the REAL plug and play. They didn't have to worry about what services or programs do you want - they just want to buy it, take it home, turn it on and use it.

Purists on the other hand want to be able bit fiddle and play and only want what they want ( and who's to say what that is).

The argument over which is the better machine is one you can never win. It is akin to which is better a Farrari or a Volkswagon. Depends on what you are looking for.

Thanks,

Tom

heyy there... i'm not sure what kinda message pop ups you are getting but one of those annoying pop ups we get over the net from some xxxgal asking u to check their site is exploiting a well known use of windows messanger service. This messaing system works only with win2k and above.. so if ur running 98, ignore this..

goto services by typing 'services.msc' in run or from the control panel .. scroll down to messanger service and stop it and change the start type to manual. its safe to do it.. check it out.. hope this helps..
