Hello.

Via a web electronic store I have found a lot of USB to ethernet adapters in the price of £3 to £5. Very cheap as you can see.

In the features of one, I have seen it says that it is a 1.1 USB device (but compatible with USB 2.0), and that it will work only on 10Mbps. It cannot reach 480Mbps(USB 2.0 standard). More specifically it says:

-Full-speed (12Mbps) USB 1.1 device ( USB 1.1 Standard ), can not reach 480Mbps(USB 2.0 standard).

I have to admit that the manufacturer is very honest !!

As for others, that do not give such details, what do you suggest me to do? I am puzzled by the fact that in the specifications they say 480Mbps (USB 2.0 speed), the adapter is 10/100Mbps, but the price is too low, isn't it? Is it gonna work on 100Mbps, or it will permanently work on 10?

e.g. on the specifications of a only £2.85 USB 2.0 to RJ45 it says:High Speed 480Mbps. Should I trust it?

What is your opinion about all that?

Thank you for your time !!
