remote access

Hi everyone,

My computer OS is windowsXP and i would like to connect remotely with my office computer(windowsXP). i already set both computer to allow remote connection. But still i am unable to successfully connect.

What do i need to do first? thank you for your advice.

I assume that you want to use RDP here. I'd check the following:

1. Make sure the two PCs can ping each other first.
2. Make sure you've added the user you want to allow to login remotely.
3. Make sure your firewall (if any) doesn't prevent RDP (port 3389).

configuring RDP could be a diff ball game under win server 2008.

No, it can work from any to any IP regardless of the workgroup.
