Re: Server 2k8 RDP printing Problem 11 years 1 month ago #35684

Hi guys,

I am still facing the same issue as the OP had :(
I installed a bunch of drivers but still many of our XP users that connect to our 2008 r2 are not able to print.

The only thing that worked so far was a commercial software solution called TSPrint (link) .

So it would be really helpful is someone has used that tool for a longer time and can confirm that it works?

Thanks :?

So the print server is 2008 r2? Clients cannot \\servername\ and see the printers in the list? Or when they try to connect to them it throws an error?

Be aware that 2008 r2 requires 64 bit drives. If your clients are not 64 bit you must also load 32 bit drivers of the same driver type.

Did you load the 64 bit drive AND the 32 bit drivers on your print server?

Right click on the "printer" in "print management" then click "properties".

Click on "sharing" button and then in the bottom click "Additional Drivers".

If x64 is greyed out and checked and x86 is NOT clicked and grayed out you need to load the additional drivers.

By checking the empty x86 and pressing "OK". Then follow the screens to add the additional driver.
