I got it pointed to A name not cname. I posted my forward lookup in this post so you can see them all 3 hosts(exchange servers) entered in new-domina.com lookup are ANames.

That DNS web site i just ran saud my MX records are correct too.
********************EDIT******************************
Looking at my dns now what i have is my MX record is pointed not to a AName but the ip adress of our Exhange server 10.50.0.245. So mapping a MX record to server ip address in stead of ANAME bad?

Dns stuff was more helpful. Typed in my e-mail address got this message

216.160.60.122. 10 [Bogus MX record - 216.160.60.122. is supposed to be a hostname, not an IP!]

So that answered my question DOnt map mx record to ip directly map it to aNAME.

Made the proper changes in the forward lookup as sahirh said. I still get this message anyway. GRRR hehe do i need to wait a while after these changes to effect?

That depends on the specified TTL on your master dns server's configuration.

Well now the MX record is mapped to the ANAME for new-domain.com

Name Type Data
new-domain.com Mail Exchanger [10]pffsdex02.new-domain.com.
pffsdex02 HOST 10.50.0.245

i Have it entered as shown above so its correct.

DNS stuff STILL says its mapped to an IP when you can clearly see its not. And still cant e-mail from linus servers.

FQDN reads for virtual SMTP server
pffsdex02.new-domain.com

so thats right also

Why? is DNS stuff saying its mapped to ip its not anymore
