Interesting stuff. To clarify this then:
1) An "active hub" is what we all call a hub, i.e. a multi-port repeater
2) An "intelligent hub" is a managable hub (for definition of hub see above)
3) A passive hub is - what? The only thing I know that can connect devices or segments without including any signal regeneration is a piece of cable..
So what IS a passive hub????

Correct me if i m mistakeing but as far as i know passive hub is a just a simple connector that just receives data from one of it's ports and repeats it to all other ports where as active hub does that and also it does signal regeneration.
