I think what KiLLaBeE is trying to say/express is that blocking IP ranges seems more reactive than proactive. Posting on the forums to notify forum moderators that spam has been posted is reactive. But I'm sure this is a temporary solution. I know the f.cx team is working diligently to provide a proactive solution in eliminating these spambots.

It's going to take a lot more than a few spambots to pollute and take down this community! :twisted:

I think I can speak for the other moderators in saying we're happy to patrol the forums and delete spam the moment we see it. Our users should be free to use and enjoy the site and that's what we're here to ensure. I know vigilance isn't a permanent fix but we can and will control these idiots until Chris and his core team have a more long-term solution
