yes im trying to get my laptop to work with my rj45 cord .my laptop is old and has a rj11jack can this even work or do they sell a adapter thanks for your replys
It worked for us, so it should work also for anyone, but you have 2 other options.

You can try an ordinary flat, untwisted pair, rj11 phone cable; it might work if your environment is not too "electrically noisy". The rj11 plug will fit into your laptop, and the rj11 plug on the other end will fit into either rj11 or rj45 jacks, whichever your equipment at that end has. Rj11 plugs fit into rj45 jacks; it's the other way round that doesn't work...needs a "slimming mod".

If the phone cable does not work because of 'noise", then you can
try a "twisted pair phone cable with rj11 jacks". Excelsus makes such cables. See them at www.excelsus-tech.com .
Link to "Products" on home page, then "Phone Accessories", find...
CDPT-25 25 feet 12 US$, CSPT-14 14 feet 8 US$

This is a US company so import to Europe may take some doing.
Maybe someone imports, or makes similar products. Good luck.
