Hi Chris

Firstly let me thank u for this wonderful site. I have been interested in networking for quite sometime now,
and i have bought few books on this subject, but never have i come across anything remotely as good as u'r site.
Thank u once again.

Now getting to my question, in the cabling page , u have shown the T568 A/B standards, and the wires which correspond to the TX+- & RX+- signals. My doubt is that, how come the TX and RX are carried on different wires on each of the standards.
(In T568A TX is carried on the 3rd wire whereas in T568B it is on the first wire)

Does this mean that the color of the wire decides which signal to carry. I thought the pins decide that, by that i mean, if the first pin is used to carry TX signal, then any wire connected to this pin will carry TX signal.

Plz clear this doubt for me.

Thank u.
