I have two computer labs running Windows 2000. Each has one network printer in them. Students are coming in and are taking advantage of the free printing in these labs. Any ideas on how I could configure these labs to only allow students who are actually enrolled in the proper classes, to have use of these printers. Giving each student their own account is too much administration for this particular situation. Any ideas would help

When you view the problem systematically, it becomes obvious that the first thing you need to do is to find a way to identify the legitimate users. Obviously you'd want some computerised way of doing this right ? So then you could authenticate anyone using the printer and decide if they're allowed or not... thus a user account would make the most sense..

But you said its not allowed, so we fall back to plan B --
You password protect the network printer share and give the password to the legit students (this will not work they will spread it around). Alternatively you could give the password to the teacher of the class and change it every so often. Neither method is foolproof but its virtually administration free.
