packet and frame?

as packetz are formed at network layer adding ip and frame at data link layer as adding MAC to data ...

when data iz traveling in Lan then it is called frame and if on WAN then data iz called Packet ?
if on WAN data iz called Packet due to ip addressing then v observe dat on WAN there iz also MAC addressez are using when data goez from device to another
is thiz correct ?
so what are the differences between packet and frame?

When data is traveling in a Lan then it is called frame and if on WAN then data is called Packet?

The answer to that question is data traveling on a lan or wan is simply called data.

Data being encapsulated by packets and frames may however be refered to as packets on wan connections and frames on lan connections because at those levels that is the protocol data unit that makes the relevant path decision. The data however is still simply data.


So let me mock this up:

I want to send some data in this case the data to be sent is the ascii text "data" and the command line application will be using the message send protocol on both ends. Additionally there will be a switch on each end and 4 router hops along the way.
