MP3 for a buck?

Hey guys,
After reading a lot of articles on the russian MP3 sites that sell whole mp3 albums for 1-2$ I visited some of them to check what's going on.
From what they state the mp3s offered are legal and very cheap...
Does anyone has any more info on this?

I know all the other MP3 vendors hate that site and some have tried to say it's illegal. But if you're paying for the download then I can't see how your personal transaction can be dodgy. Whether the site nicked the MP3s or not is another question but ultimately one they alone will have to answer. I believe this site is one of the leaders in terms of download traffic as well.
Footnote - never used it myself; I'm not a habitual downloader. I'd sooner buy the CD so I can own a hard copy

That's what I believe too. Anyway, I'm just gonna use it in the future and see. Of course I prefare to own hard-copies but there are some albums that I would like to have and not pay for a cd
Cheers

According to this article from TheRegister, it seems that AllofMP3 is an illegal service that doesn't pay anything back to copyright holders or artists.
