Access Control List

thanks to all. everyone has explained it clearly. I would like to add some more to it.
Always check your source & destination and the kind of traffic you want to filter. One must remember to apply the access list as close as possible to the source.

A standard ACL should be applied as close as possible to the destination whilst an extended ACL list should be applied as close as possible to the source.
