In order to configure a failover system you need the following

Two internet service provider
three sets of ip address
OSPF routing protocol.
two interface card for each server

You need a common ip address for your DNS server the one you have registered .

to setup :

[code:1]
Provider A ........................................................Provider B
......................................
|wanIP_A | ........................................ | wanIP_B |
|router A | ........................................ | router B |
|LanIP A | ........................................ | LanIPB |
............................................
\ ............................................................. /
\ ............................................................. /
| lanIP_A LANIP_B |
| loopbackip lo (127.0.0.1) |
| loopbackip lo:1 (Common IP_C) |
DNS Server[/code:1]

You need to enable OSPF routing (i use gated)

Pitty the formation of your graph was destroyed by the script. Could you try posting it again in
tag because it seems interesting? :)

Thanks!

I've tried to add the
tags in order to preserve the diagram but I'm not sure if I've done it correctly, so we'll need jhundpogi to confirm this for us.

I must say its a very interesting topic and something you won't see covered in detail on many sites!
