Please help - I am studying networking, principally Windows2000, and have come across a test question in part of my course on TCP/IP addressing which I think I have the answer for, but would like confirmation/clarification.

The scenario is as follows: A domain controller has address 136.28.86.63, a router on the subnet has 136.28.90.34. You are to add a new file server to the subnet, which of the following pairs of IP address and subnet mask would you apply to the fileserver (best choice).
a) 136.28.97.158 (mask = 255.255.224.0)
b) 136.28.73.23 (mask = 255.255.240.0)
c) 136.28.94.84 (mask = 255.255.248.0)
d) 136.28.92.55 (mask = 255.255.240.0)

I believe that d) is the best answer.

Can anybody confirm / refute this? Feedback would be greatly appreciated

Again D
It is the only answer that allows the 3 machines to be on the same subnet

I must agree, D seems like the correct answer.
