Hi people,

I'm on the lookout for a program that can do the following via the network:

1) Scan remote (lan) pc's and give me their full hardware configuration

2) O/S info - Give me the Operating system running on the machine, along with any users/groups created, shares and general o/s parameters.

Any ideas or suggestions ?

hmmm.. dont know about something that will dump the full hardware config.. but the other stuff can be ennumerated using NetBIOS. Use Superscan.. it will ennumerate quite a bit of that data.

The other options might include using Manage Computer on the remote system..

However I'm guessing you wanna just scan the whole LAN and dump all this info.... I'll look around

Thanks Sahir,

If you find anything, please let me know.

By scanning the PC via the network, I'll be able to save some people from running around to over 230 Pc's, checking their hardware and software :)

Got a couple of things that might help you

www.emco.is/networkinventory3/nifeatures.html

and their main page with other utilities

www.downloadshareware.com/network/

They seem to have the most popular network auditing software. Haven't checked it out yet myself though (no LAN to play with :()
