Even though the desktop computer is not dead yet but I think the desktop external hard drive is of very minimal use these days for personal use . I stand to be corrected.

These still exist they are called thumb drives now.

And with Bigger Storage, some of them are now bigger than the Desktop, or in some cases even the laptop :D

I still use mine too, but as a high-capacity data transfer tool rather than a static storage expansion
