folks, i am in a fix i reset my Toshiba satellite A220 laptop bios password because i told some friends about the old password and the abuse the privilege. so i was forced to change it last night. now the problem is that i have forgotten the new password am i am lock out. please how do i reset the bios password :cry:

start d system in save mode, and then login 2 ur own account or 2 d administrative account and change d password.

guy, thanks for that advice but its not a window password. its Bios , when the system starts after the Toshiba screen its locked. if it was a window password i will have reset it since.

Unfortunately there is no straight forward hardware password reset for laptops (as it is for desktops). However, there are many things you can try, first have a read here:

If nothing works, then you might wana try this tool called "KeyDisk" made only for Toshiba laptops, here:

I did not use it before since I don't have a Toshiba. KeyDisk is a command line tool, you need a floppy disk/drive to use it. If your laptop doesn't have one then it will not work. If it has a floppy drive, then run the KeyDisk from command prompt.

If nothing works, try creating a parallel port loopback, as shown here:

Or try disconnecting the BIOS battery, (doing this one will reset the BIOS to factory defaults), here:
