Well by giving a host a subnetmask of 255.255.255.255 your telling that host that its the only valid address in the network its connected to.

This will surely stop all subnet broadcasts from propagating to the ISP.

I had looked into the issue a few years ago and it all seemed logically to set it up this way.

Perhaps as TFS suggested, a quick search on google will reveal a lot of useful information that can help you understand it better.

Now that I'm thinking of it ... this is also a good topic that can be covered in the future.

Yeah limiting the broadcasts makes sense. I'm looking for more info, will post it here if I find anything

btw i didnt notice till just now that the forum lets you use
