hi

can any body tell me about the role of Level 3 in networking.Do they work on Routing and Switching or something else.

I think you are asking about "Layer 3" of the OSI model? This layer works with IP addresses, routing, etc. You are better off searching Google for a description of each of the OSI model layers. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Hi,

I guess you are referring to the company "Level 3".

I think they provide connection between ISP backbones and the Internet backbone.

Check their website out. Should have more details.

ya, I meant the company LEVEL 3 , not Layer 3 in the OSI model :)
I too got some information like you mentioned ,Ranger. But I wanted to know whether they are doing something related to routing and switching...

Level 3 is one of the tier 1 network provider. Tier 1 providers are sort of the backbone.
