TOPIC: HowTo: Basic ASA 5505 configuration

Re: HowTo: Basic ASA 5505 configuration 10 years 2 months ago #32100

I agree with Alans, this should go in the Cisco Knowledge Base. It's a really good step-by-step tutorial for the ASA5505. I've seen many, many posts on setting up the ASA5505 from scratch.

What do you think moderators?

Is this set-up works for cisco asa 5510? 10 years 2 months ago #32177

Please I have a problem with cisco asa 5510, is this set-up works for this one too?

Fixed IP on ASA 5505 10 years 2 months ago #32227

Good step by step, however you glossed over the part I need. I want to have a fixed IP on the outside. If I have it set to DHCP everything is fine but when I switch to a fixed IP I can no longer get out of the firewall. I am assuming it is a DNS or Routing problem but I can't figure out what to fix.

I am new to firewalls and everything I know I learned by trial and error.

Thanks in advance for any help.
