Firewall:: what is the best software?

i want to block yahoo massenger and internet access to user after office hour...so i decide to setup firewall at my office..what is the best distro and software to use?

before this i'm using packet filtering but quite difficult to use by new user since i'm new in openBSD and VI environment..

nnbnbIPCOP ( www.ipcop.org ) should do the job. It's easy to install if you've got a spare PC lying around and it's also relatively easy to configure.

If you are using OpenBSD with PF you could just block that port. Maybe set a cron job to load a new rule set at a specific time? I don't know of any functions native to PF that would change rules based on time.

if i want to block internet, just block port 80

block tcp ports 5000 and 5001 to prevent outbound yahoo chat tcp connections. But remember, if the employee(s) doing the chatting are savvy enough, they can always channel the chat data through a http proxy which makes it difficult to block.
