For all those engineers working with Cisco CallManager Express, you might be interested in knowing that Cisco has released their Cisco Unified CME version 9 only a few days ago IOS 15.2(2)T.  While at the time of writing this article, CCME v9 is not yet listed in Cisco Unified Communication Manager Express Compatibility Information page, we have managed to obtain a direct link to the page which can be found in our popular CallManager Express GUI Software Installation & Configuration - Part 1.  Amongst other newly supported devices, Cisco CCME v9 finally adds support for the newer ATA 187 (SIP only) which has replaced the popular ATA 186.

CCME Engineers should note that Cisco has decided not to provide support the 2800/3800 series routers from CME version 8.6 and above, forcing many CallManager Express customers to upgrade to the newer Cisco 2900/3900 series routers. Of course, this strategy to push the newer 2900 & 3900 series routers into the market, has not been embraced by existing Cisco customers.

To read more on the latest Cisco Unified CME v9.0, please visit our CallManager Express GUI Software Installation & Configuration - Part 1 and select the relevant link from our Cisco CME table.
