I have been getting unusual problems in my network ... In a specific range of IP, everyone gets IP CONFLICT ... Not just me, it is random ... Everyone complains that they get conflict ... Anyone has any comments? .

There was a Virus MyTob in our network and it was cleaned ... Will it be a malfunctioning switch ? .. When I check the eventlog for th Mac address of the conflicted PC , i just get 00-00-00-00-00 only ...

1. No dual DHCP issue
2. No loop

I find it very unlikely to be a switch mailfunction. More likely, it is a windows mailfunction caused by some malware :)

Here's some suggestions:

- In each machine use regedit to go to [code:1]HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002bE10318}[/code:1]

Inside there should be a number of numbered subkeys, one of these should contain the settings for the ethernet adapter you use. Check if there is an entry called "NetworkAddress" inside there and if there is, delete it. Or use MacMakeup instead.

- Try to isolate each machine from the network, to find which is the guilty (if it's only one). Also try connecting two pcs that have this problem, directly with each other.

- Check for any suspicious traffic with a sniffer. Also check for running processes, in case some malware is still active.

- You may be able to reduce future problems like this by tightening the privileges of the account used during every-day use.
