Hello I'm new around here. Anyway, I'm relitively new to windows and am trying to set up a proxy, but it won't work or it fails in the middle of putting it on. I think that the problem is the wireless router. However, I have no idea. I'm running xp service pack 2 if it matters. Also if you could reccommend any proxies that re good for win it would be appreciated.

Hi Charles
What kind of proxy do you want? A web proxy for anonymous surfing or a proxy server for your site?

I was hoping to make a website, part of which, would be rerouting requests through a proxy and scrambling both your IP and the web site for anonymous viewing of my site and any others that anyone chooses. However, I have no idea how to do this, i guess, scince windows dies every time I try something new. So I'm starting fresh and was wondering if anyone here might be able to help.

hi,

i think you need a firewall rather than a proxy server. you could use a firewall and configure NAT on it.
