Recently I came across a problem on my winblows installation (professional). Every time I try and run a 16 bit program under windows, it brings up an error with the psuedo autoexec file saying that it is non existant. Uninstallations no longer work properly because of this error. I searched for the file and found it, and the syntax is correct. Virus scans don't pick it up, firewall logs show nothing and there is no suspicous traffic on my IDS. This leads me to believe that it must be a local issue, or a virus that is sneaky enough to get passed my antivirus. Anybody experience this problem and has a solution? any input is appreciated.
