I've just come across ie that does not have the connection tab on the internet options settings,I was trying to change the proxy setting but I did that in the registry and everything is working fine.What causes this and how can it be fixed.I tried to repair windows but it didnt work.

It may have been disabled via Group Policy (if it's part of a domain) or Local Group Policy otherwise. Sounds like it's a standalone PC, so you could check by running the Local Group Policy editor by typing "gpedit.msc" in the Run box. You will find the "Disable the Connections page" setting under Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Internet Control Panel
