Hi,
I have acquired an old computer. the serial port does not seem to work. Using Hyperterminal to configure a router does not work--typed commands does not get displayed. How can I find out if the serial port has been deactivated, or it is faulty?

Since I upgraded to Win 2000, does the serial port require drivers to be downloaded? If so, how do I find the make and model of the port?
Thanks.
