I've setup an FTP site and got all the security set so a user can login and work fine from the LAN.

When the same user logs in from outside the router, thay can't do anything...?

It doesn't seem to be a port issue if the user can login?

Is there something within iis preventing this from working?

Have you got both ports 20 and 21 accessible from the outside?

21 is, not sure about 20.

I can connect from the outside I just can't do anything.

FTP uses two ports, port 21 is used for control and port 20 to transfer data. You need both ports to be accessible from the outside - if only port 21 is open you'll get the kind of behaviour you're reporting. Make sure you definitely have both ports open from the outside

20 was not open, so I opened it... It didn't fix the problem, maybe it's part of the problem...

illness:

What version of IIS and what is the error message? Are you using command-line FTP, Browser-based FTP client, etc.
