Windows XP protected folders 10 years 5 months ago #15464

Hey guys,
Here is the problem that a friend has faced.
After reinstalling windows he cannot access a protected my documents folder... He used to have two accounts and now he can't access the my documents folders...
I have come across the same problem in the past but can't remember if a solution exists and what it is..

Any help appreciated... Cheers

Of course it exists, it's just that every useful thing in windows is hidden! :D

You'll need to disable "simple filesharing" from tools > options (or something like this).

After you do this, there will be an extra tab or two on the properties of each directory or file, in which you will be able to define permissions on a user or group basis and also change the permissions/ownership of it recursively.
