hi to all linux gurus

i would just like to ask if you have any idea with regards to the subject?... we would like to utilize the power of the penguin and it would be very appreciated for any suggestions or ideas you may share.

if the subject is possible what distro is best for this kind of task. also i would like to ask what distro is fitted to be a file server that would cater windows clients and to which you could set restrictions and permissions to folders and files in a domain environment or that could talk to Windows Active Directory.

your comments, suggestions or even violent reactions :D are most welcome...

thanks a million....

I'd go with Slackware, Debian or Fedora Core.......

Chris has a Slack file-server if I recall correctly.

Check out www.samba.org the active directory support is experimental, last I checked. But no matter the distro thats probly what you will you use to share files between windows and linux. As far as distros go I like BSD I have a BSD box setup to share files with my windows machine.
