Hi all, i have recently tried installing fedora on a virtual machine and encouneterd the following errors. A 'No drives found' dialog box keeps poping up during the installation displaying a msg like:

"An error occured - No valid devices where found on which to create new file systems. Please check your hardware for the cause of t his problem."

Any help as to how to solve this problem will be appreciated. thanks in advance

Have you tried creating a virtual IDE (not SCSI) hard drive on your virtual machine before proceeding with the installation?

I have been working on this issue for a while, and here are some of the potential fixes I've come across:

www.suggestafix.com/lofiversion/index.php/t17456.html

www.planetmy.com/blog/?p=229

tekartist.blogspot.com/2006/11/fedora-co...mage-for-vmware.html

The last link there has step by step instructions with pictures and all, but unfortunately I haven't had the time to test any of the solutions myself.

Please post if one of those works for you, I'd be interested in hearing about it!
