IPCOP 1.4.10 gives you a choice of several kernel configurations at boot time including the default single processor as well as SMP,
ACPI enabled, SMP with (ACPI HT enabled) versions. Check out the following link for more info. So the answer to your question is yes! It should work with the Core Duo.
