TOPIC: How MTU Size Affects Windows Login

Re: How MTU Size Affects Windows Login 9 years 7 months ago #33373

Yeah - I am not sure either. When I used an XP laptop it would log in immediately even without the jumbo frames enabled. The Windows Server 2008 would take 10 min to log in. Once the jumbo frames were enabled everything was good. I do not have roaming profiles or anything fancy. I was simply logging into the server from the console and it would take that long until the MTU size was increased.

I am unable to test different things now that I have production servers on the other end of the link...

Anyone have any thoughts?
