Can someone distinguish between carrier ethernet and metro ethernet services? and eleborate on it.

To the best of my knowledge...

Carrier Ethernet refers specifically to to telco's ability to provide ethernet through there "internal" network.

Where metro ethernet is a more general term, relating to the methods of deploying ethernet services over large distances by anyone.

I don't think it would be correct to compare them directly. (not exactly apples to apples)
