hi to all!

is it possible to share an internet connection with one client using dial up connection to the internet connection server?

i am thinking to share an internet connectioon to a remote pc. is is possible to this? a remote pc dialing a number and a server waiting and share its internet connection.

what are the requirements..

I don't see why not but bear in mind that any internet access over a dial-up line can be slow.
You'd need:
1) Something to answer the incoming call at the internet server end. If you're a Windows shop you could use Microsoft RAS services to do that
2) A suitable client at the remote end. Windows client has such services built in
3) A method of connection. You'd need to do something that will let you run IPM across the link. You might want to look at a basic PPP connection, or even SLIP, but there's not much security in that. An alternative would be to bring up the basic dial-up connection then establish a VPN over it. In some ways though it's harder to set up, a VPN makes it easier in concept as your remote end could have an IP address on your central network and do whatever it does as if it were actually there

Just noticed a typo in my previous post. IPM should of course read IP. I must tipe more carefolly...
