is this 193.128.7.8/12 a valid range of addresses?
Mask /12 255.240.0.0 11111111111100000000000000000000
Twelve 1s in the network portion of the address
Lowest 11000001.10000000.00000111.00001000
193.128.7.8
Highest 11000001.10001111.11111111.11111111 193.143.255.255
CIDR block of 2^20=1048576 addresses (IPv4).

or maybe I cannot use /12 with 193.x.x.x (as it is class C)?
thnx

this is a class C address. so the default subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. that entails in turn that you only have 8 bits left for subnetting, while the first 24 bits are already reserved for defining the respective subnet mask for that class
so i dont think you can have a /12 subnet mask for an address in class C group.

Try making it a class A address if you want a /12 CIDR address.
