TOPIC: Help me - Router configuration

Help me - Router configuration 8 years 4 months ago #34166

Hi,

I am configuring router in Cisco Packet Tracer 5.2
I was trying for following command
Router(config)#int serial 2
but it gives me an error.
Router(config)#int serial 0
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

Like this some other commands are not working. So do I need to make some settings or what?

Thanks in Advance.

Have you tried

int s0/0/1 or s0/0/0 or whatever port you need to use?

Go back out to privileged mode and do a show run.

It's very possible that your router does not contain a serial port.

And to view all the interfaces you have in a brief form, try:

[code:1]show ip interface brief[/code:1]

Type the interface names exactly as they appear.

Ensure serial port is there 8 years 2 months ago #34749

In packet tracer serial port is not already there so you have to switch off router and put serial interface as your need and then on your router and type the command

additional ports are available in left side panel of packet tracer when you double click router image

Router#sh ip int brief
