We usually get posts from people who are caught in the "Catch-22" situation where they don't have much experience, and can't get any jobs because of this lack of experience. The usual advice is to try to get involved in voluntary IT work to beef up experience levels. I just came across this website, iT4Communities, (UK-based) which links up IT professionals with charities. They have also found out that the IT professionals usually go on to develop a long-term business relationship with the charities.
