can u suggest any software to view both ip address and mac address any open source software?

hi

well actually you don't need a software just to view your network adapter's MAC and IP address.

if your using windows, just go to the command prompt and type "ipconfig/all" which will display all your network network adapters with their corresponding MAC and IP address.

as for linux, i think its a different thing and that i'm not the expert on such OSs... :D

actually i want to monitor my network..

i see what you mean...why don't you use a personal firewall software. you get the security and features such as what you want on one complete installation...:)

For small networks, Angry IP scanner works pretty good for windows land: http://www.angryziber.com/ipscan/. Basically, just give it an ip range and it pings for live hosts, and then gives you info on hosts that are alive. Such as: ip, mac address, netbios info and open ports.

Should do the trick for ya'.
