TOPIC: Congestion because of Aggragation & Confluence

Congestion because of Aggragation & Confluence 8 years 4 months ago #36007

Here is an excerpt from Cisco's Official QoS student guide describing causes of congestion:

"Congestion can occur anywhere within a network where speed mismatches (for example, a GigabitEthernet link feeding a FastEthernet link), aggregation (for example, multiple GigabitEthernet links feeding an upstream GigabitEthernet), or confluence (the flowing
together of two or more traffic streams)."

Can someone please help me understand how is traffic confluence different from traffic aggregation?
