Hi, im quite new to networking and currently studying ccent.

I made a small simulation at packet tracer and I have these following networks.

PC1&PC2 > Switch > Router1 (s0/1) to Router2 (s0/1) > Server

I set the DNS for
www.test.com
192.168.10.2

PC1and2 can Ping the server but everytime I use the built in webbrowser of PC1 and 2, an errors shows saying 'hostname unresolved'

what should I do then?

Did you set the DNS server entry (in the config tab) of PC1 & PC2 ? You must set this to the IP of your DNS server.

Posting a link to your .pkt file can help us understand the issue.

The entry www.test.com should be maped to 192.168.1.1. Instead, it was mapped to 192.168.2.1 which did not exist in the network. Here is the fixed file:

I checked the fixed version. Thanks for the help but i still have some few questions..

The DNS table list is
www.test.com - 192.168.1.1

and each configuration on PC1 is
IP: 192.168.1.2 /24
DNS: 192.168.1.1

My question, If i added another record on the DNS table, like..

www.test2.com - 192.168.1.5

is there a way I can do to not manually change the DNS of PC1? to access www.test2.com

You don't need to change the DNS entry in PC1. Your DNS server is 192.168.1.1. Just create another server, enable HTTP service on it. Give it the IP 192.168.1.5. And add the record www.test2.com - 192.168.1.5 to the DNS server (192.168.1.1).
