Recoving mails... 7 years 5 months ago #29856

Hi all,

I configured outlook to check my mails. Unfortunately my system was crashed. I lost my whole data.

I heard that if we configure as an exchange client only we can get the mails back. What about the mails which are configured using POP3. I googled for this but i didn't get any answer for that.

Is there any chance to recover my mails. Please anyone can help me how to recover my mails.

If its not possible to get mails, please tell me how to save the mails in server (when using POP3).

I configured my outlook using POP3.
Operating System is XP SP2
Outlook 2003

Thank u.

Outlook automatically saves all mail a .pst file. Can you still access your data if you hook the hard drive to another working PC as a secondary drive? If you can, head to the following path:

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Replace "User" above with your own user name. The file name is "Outlook.pst". You might also find "archive.pst". You can import the this file to outlook. If you can't access your files the crashed drive. You might need a drive recovery software. Tell us if that's the case.

ramachandraraju since S0lo said there is an auto save of ur .pst file well if u cant get the secondary thing working then after u format and reinstall windows u can use GetData Back by runtime and try to locate everything under the dir S0lo stated.

Hope it works for u...

well not to ignore what Sose said i must be honest with u, u need to have a backup. so u might not cry again.
