Hello everybody :)

Anyone here knows how to benchmark my DSL connection? I've tried www.2wire.com and speedtest.net but the variance in-between results were very significant and i think the results were unreliable at all.

Thanks n More Power!!!

Hello derk :)

As you know speed tests are done via transferring random/test data between two different locations, you and a remote peer. Hence, the transfer speeds depends NOT only on your DSL connection speed, but also on each and every hop/router/link between you and the remote peer including the peer's connection speed. That is probably why you see different results when you change the remote peer or use a different speed test website/service.

speedtest.net is reasonably good in my opinion. Typically, try to pick a remote location close to your country/location to minimize the number of hops/routers/links. Not assuming that you don't know that, but just in case.
